The Pelathope Urban Living Lab (PULL) was formally launched on March 21 evening in Pelathope, Mylapore.
PULL is a space to celebrate Mylapore’s life on and off its streets and neighbourhoods – past, present, and future, says architect Shreya Krishna, the person behind this project. ( seen in the 3rd photo here)
Set in a vintage house in Pelathope, this Lab will be open to people on March 22 and 23 ( between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
What do you get to see and experience here?
The Mylapore Mapping Zone invites you to contribute information on social and cultural spaces that enliven the neighbourhood.
The exhibition space displays a variety of objects used and possessed by Mylaporeans over the past 100 years plus – bill books and land documents, typewriters and cameras, wedding albums and kitchen vessels and home accessories.
Alongside here are displayed photos of weddings, street life and social and religious events of the distant past in Mylapore.
There is also a Listening Post where you can log into a computer and listen to senior Mylaporeans share stories of life and times of the past century. Part of the Oral History project that Shreya has initiated.
The venue is located inside Pelathope; you enter a street that is located diagonally opposite the main access of the Thirumylai MRTS station. Note: there is no parking space inside the colony.
