Centenary of R. K. Math Charitable Dispensary: state minister leads guests at simple event in Mylapore

The centenary of the R. K. Math Charitable Dispensary was celebrated on March 22 evening and was a simple affair at its premises off R. K. Mutt Road, Mylapore

The renovated sections of the dental wing and of the pharmacy were formally opened by the special invitees – swami Gautamananda who is now national head of the Ramakrishna Mission, state minister Ma. Subramaniam and arts promoter and philanthropist, Nalli Kuppuswami Cyetty who has been one of the leading benefactors of the Mission here.

A Math staffer said that with the expanded dental unit, more people can be screened and treated here now.

About 300 people make use of this clinic and dispensary facility every day, mainly because top-ranking doctors are available for consultation and treat patients here and because the charges are relatively less compared to those in private hospitals.

The dispensary, open from 7.45 am to 11.45 a.m. has 12 departments and is run solely on donations.
