Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has installed hand rails on the pavement of Srinivasa Avenue in R. A. Puram.
A section of this pavement runs alongside Chettinad Harishree Vidyalaya school. Another school, Raja Muthiah School is located at the far end of this road.
The hand rails will serve a useful purpose in an area where school students move in and out in the mornings and evenings and because this road takes a steady stream of vehicles of buses, vans, autos and bikes, following the traffic diversion made due to Chennai Metro work in Mylapore -Alwarpet – Mandaveli.
