This February 18 morning, at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, Tamil Nadu governor R. N. Ravi felicitated Seeni Vishwanathan, a Padma Shri awardee-designate and the man who has, over many decades, devoted all his time to collate all the works of Subramania Bharathi.
Besides the governor, a host of people including scholar Dr Sudha Seshayyan and arts promoter and businessperson Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti spoke on Vishwanathan and his efforts in collecting essays, verses, scripts and songs of Bharathi.
Alliance Publishers of Mylapore has published 23 volumes of all the Bharathi’s works collated and edited by Vishwanathan. The set is on sale at Alliance, which has its store on R. K. Mutt Road, opposite the tank of Sri Kapali Temple.
Alliance publisher V. Srinivasan was also felicitated for publishing the set of books.
The set of 23 volumes which cover some 15,000 pages costs Rs.16,999.
