Big crowds on day 2 and 3 of teppam festival at Sri Kapali Temple

The three-day teppam of Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple was held from February 12 to 14.  While on day one, the focus was on lord Siva-Chandrashekara, on the next two evenings, it was on lord Singaravelar and his consorts.

The gods, decorated with bright alankarams befitting the occasion, were seated inside the Navaratri mantapam inside the temple and then taken out in procession through East Mada and South Mada Streets and R. K. Mutt Road and then seated inside the brightly illuminated and decorated teppam which did the rounds of the tank.

A group of ten children, who attend religio-culture classes held in the temple campus, dressed up in the various avatars of lord Muruga, took part in the procession inside the temple, every evening, and were later seen seated inside the tank.

There were only a few hundred people inside the tank on day one of the teppam. The numbers multiplied on day two and day three, most of them seated on steps on the western side of the tank, an area which was also brightly-illuminated.
