Ahobilam Mutt jeeyar to release souvenir on Sri Vendantha Desikar Devasthanam. Event on Feb.18 evening

A commemorative souvenir titled ‘Sathamana Samvathsra Malar’  is being released on Tuesday, February 18 evening ( event starts at 5 p.m.) at the Vedantha Desikar Kalyana Madapam, 28 Venkatesa Agraharam, Mylapore.

The souvenir marks the 100 years since the installation of the images of Perumal and Thayar at the Sri Vendantha Desikar Devasthanam which was celebrated some time ago.

The first copy of the souvenir will be released by Srimath Paramahasethyathi 46th Jeer Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Maha Desikan of the Ahobilam Mutt, who has been camping in Mylapore for over a fortnight.

Present and past archakars and kainkaryaparas of the temple will also be honoured at the event. occasion.

A note from the trustees of the temple says –

Sri Vedantha Desikar Devasthanam situated at 4 K P Sannadhi Street, Mylapore is more than 300 years old.

Originally It was having only one sannadhi for swami Desigan. Later, in 1924, the sannathis for Sri Alarmelmanga Sametha Sri Srinivasa Perumal were installed with the support of The Hindu newspaper group and Bangur Charities of Kolkatta.

Over the years, the TVS Group and several other donors have contributed for the development of the temple.
