Another heritage building in Mylapore will be gone soon. Workers have locked it up, run a screen outside it and the hammers and JCB may well be here in days.
The landmark building of PRK Nadar and Sons is one of the oldest buildings on South Mada Street in Mylapore.
A business started by PRK Nadar in 1910, banking on the coffee plantations down south/ west, Nadar branded his coffee simply, Leo Coffee.
The quaint building on South Mada Street was big on location and itself, a promotion for Leo Coffee.
This building was given a facelift about a year ago; then, the owners entered the real estate sector.
