The T. M. Krishna-Sangita Kalanidhi controversy spins into ‘Thuglak’ readers meet plans

The buzz around the choice of Carnatic music artiste T M Krishna for the Sangita Kalanidhi award by the Music Academy continues.
The recent resound has been triggered by a long article that politician, commentator and Thuglak magazine editor, S. Gurumurthy wrote for The New Indian Express where he touched on why Krishna did not deserve the award which also awards him a title in the name of M S Subbulakshmi, saying Krishna has made vile remarks on the Carnatic great.
Now, Gurumurthy has said that  The Music Academy has cancelled a booking made for the annual Thuglak readers meet due on January 14, 2025.
He says the venue has been shifted to Narada Gana Sabha, Alwarpet.
Below is Gurumurthy’s tweet.
Dear Thuglak readers and general public. The liberals who own the Music Academy did peevishly cancel booking it had confirmed for Thuglak Annual Readers meet on 14 Jan 2025. But Narada Gana Sabha has kindly rearranged its scheduled programmes to spare the hall for us on 14 Jan
