Mylapore Post Office on Kutchery Road has begun handling shipping abroad kolu bommais.
The past week, one local store ran a bill of Rs.2.50 lakh in shipping bommais to the West.
“This shop booked 30 boxes in two days, ” said a postal staff.
Be it one single bommai or a set, the staff at the International Counter here can even pack the dolls for a small fee.
The counter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A packet reaches the USA in 7 to 12 days. 200 countries are serviced by India Post.
