The first lot of hawker shops selling kolu bommais have opened on North Mada Street, Mylapore.
Many are now compact stalls and there is some order in the display.
Besides the sets of traditional bommais, there are few sets of men playing traditional games, a football team and a wedding party.
Hawkers say that the best array of bommais should be on sale from this weekend. Prices though are stiff.
