Two residents of Mylapore zone have been chosen for India’s highest civilian awards, the Padma awards.
They are classical dancer and actor Vyjayanthimala Bali who resides in Alwarpet and nagaswaram senior artiste Seshampatti Sivalingam, who resides in V C Gardens area, Mandaveli. ( photo below)
Bali has bene chosen for the Padma Vibhushan award while Sivalingam will be decorated with the Padma Shri.
