Rasikas, artistes gather at private space to listen to music of T. Brinda

A ‘Listening Session’ based on the Carnatic music of T. Brinda was held on the occasion of her 111th birth anniversary at a private space in Alwarpet on Sunday.
The event was curated by vocal artiste and music teacher Geetha Raja and Shreeraam Shankar of Vaak Foundation and held at Shreeraam’s residence.
This session was conducted live and online so that more rasikas could enjoy it.

Among those who attended were T. Brinda’s son Sounder,  T. Sankaran’s son Yadav Murti Sankaran,
artistes Neyveli Santhanagopalan, Subhashini Parthasarathy, Subhasree Ramachandran, Delhi Muthukumar and Aruna Ranganathan.

Geetha Raja said that listening to two hours of Brinda’s exquisite music – the varnam, raga alapanas, rare krithis, padams, javalis, viruttams – in an intimate ambience was an educative experience for everyone.
