Fisherfolk suspend fishing following weather alert

Off Marina Loop Road, the hub of fishing save for the steady rainfall, it has been quiet the past 24 hours.

Since an orange alert has been put out by the Met Department, warning fishers of the sea conditions and asking them to not go fishing, local fishers have been cautious and stayed away from fishing.

Hundreds of boats are now seen parked on the Marina sands, off the road.

A few which were pulled ashore are seen firmly tied to larger boats, to ensure these do not get swept away when the waves move inwards.

Off the road, hardly any fish hawkers were open for business.
