Bangalore’s Sukriti presents flute concert at park

This month’s Sunday Mikeless Kutcheri in the Park in Luz, organized by Sundaram Finance, saw a lilting flute recital by 11 year old Sukrithi Vijay.

A small group sat immersed in the music at the Chess Square at Nageswara Rao Park, as Sukrithi Vijay displayed good technique as she performed 10 songs without a break.

Sukrithi Vijay and her accompanists were felicitated with a memento by Sundaram Finance at the end of the performance.

Sukrithi Vijay is based in Bangalore and has been learning to play on the flute for 5 years. She learnt the basics from Venkatanarayana Jois and also briefly trained under R. Athul Kumar. She is currently under the tutelage of Vani Manjunath.

Sukrithi was the winner of The Hindu Margazhi 2021 Contest for child talent and also featured in Times Of India SaPa School Contest in 2023 in the meritorious entries.

At the Nageswara Rao Park concert last Sunday, she was accompanied by Chaithra J on the violin and by Ravi Kiran Bharighat on the mridangam
