The governor of Telengana, Tamilisai Soundararajan released the second edition of the biography on Carnatic music vidwan late K. V. Narayanaswamy at an event held on Friday evening at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore.
Sri Ariyakkudi & K. V. Narayanaswamy Memorial Trust hosted the launch of the Prof. Palghat K. V. Narayanaswamy centenary celebrations that evening.
Mridangam vidwan Dr T. K. Murthy, whose 100th birthday was celebrated recently, was present and he was honoured with an award.
Later, there was a concert by vidwan Ravi Kiran on the chitra vina. Since the formal part of the event got delayed by close to an hour, his concert ran for an hour.
This celebration has continued on the weekend – at Arkay Centre, Luz
On Sept.3, the Sunday concerts include those by Gayathri Girish ( vocal) at 4.30 pm and T V S Mahadevan at 6.45 pm
