Bharatanatyam teacher Sujatha Mohan celebrates 25 years of her academy. Event on July 29

Dr. Sujatha Mohan, senior disciple of Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, the celebrated Bharatanatyam guru and artiste, started her career as a dancer 50 years years ago.

Now, her Bharatanatyam dance school called Padmashree Nrithyalaya based in the Mylapore zone, is celebrating its silver jubilee.

The 25th annual day of the school will be held on July 29 at Muthamizh Peravai’s auditorium in R A Puram (diagonally opposite MGR Janaki College for Women), 5.30 pm onwards.

That evening, over 25 senior students of Sujatha who reside in the USA, Dubai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai will participate in the events lined up.

The highlight is a thematic performance titled ‘Guru Samarpana Angaharam’, a tribute to Sujatha’s guru.
