A youth working for Hotel Savera in Mylapore was killed in an accident in the hotel’s elevator on Sunday.
Police said that the house-keeping staffer was entering the lift with a trolley when a wheel got stuck in the gate, the lift began to move and the staffer was caught in between and crushed to death.
Fire Service personnel were called and they managed to extricate the body and send it to a government hospital in Royapettah for post mortem.
A case has bene filed against the lift service personnel and a hotel staff.
