P. K. Kavenitha, currently the deputy commissioner of Kamakshi Amman Temple Mangadu, has been promoted to the rank of Jt. Commissioner and will take charge as the executive officer of Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple.
She will take charge from R. Hariharan who had a short stint of six months following the death of D. Kaveri.
Soon after the appointment, she told Mylapore Times that she was delighted at the promotion to the JC rank. “The appointment to a post at Kapali Temple is a great blessing. At the same time, it comes with a lot of responsibilities. This is a vey big temple and there will be challenges. I hope to give my best and do well. My focus will be on retrieval of lands belonging to the temple”, she said.
In addition to Mangadu temple, she had also been holding additional charge as EO of Sri Parthasarathy Temple. It is likely that she will be relieved of the role at the Thiruvallikeni temple.
