It all started on April 25 with the Velli Mooshika Vahana procession of Narthana Pillayar.
This was followed by a 10 Vasantha Utsavam for Kapaleeswarar. And then Singaravelar provided darshan in different Thiru Kolams over 14days.
Vaikasi Krithigai (May 19) marked the final evening of the Vasantha Utsavam for Singaravelar.
The decorators created a grand mandapam similar to the one at the Singaravelar Sannidhi. Shortly after 8.30pm, Singaravelar along with his consorts Valli and Devayani were mounted on to the beautifully created tall mandapam.
For over 90 minutes, he provided darshan around the four mada streets.
It was past 10.30pm and there were still a handful of devotees waiting to watch the final set of events around the Vasantha Mandapam.
Vedic scholar Sri Venkata Ganapathy Ganapadigal and othuvar Vageesan (othuvar Sathugurunathan was in Malaysia on Friday) presented the sacred verses one final time around the Vasantha Mandapam.
This was followed by Mukha Veena, Mathalam and Nagaswaram music presentation around the mandapam.
After the deeparathanai, with the clock ticking to 11pm, the Sripatham presented a delightful voyali to the Nagaswaram tunes of asthana vidwan Mohan Dass presenting the famous English Notes of Harikesanallur Muthiah Bhagavathar – leading Singaravelar into the Thiru Kalyana Mandapam bringing to end this year’s Vasantha Utsavam at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple
