Rotary Club of Madras Marina and Chennapuri Annadana Samajam have been running this course for the past 7 years.
This centre states that it has trained 200 plus students. This initiative is supported by Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd for economically and academically weaker students and leads them to jobs.
This course is run free of cost (also free accommodation provided to outstation students, uniform and study materials).
There are two courses –
1. the one-year course for 10th & 12th students (pass/fail) which is approved by Department of Employment and Training, Govt of Tamil Nadu) – this course starts on July 1.
2. the short term certificate course (3 months) for diploma and BE students on Refrigeration and Air-conditioning – starts in May.
This centre is located in Dr. P. V. Rao Hr. Sec. School campus, No 2, Sundaram Salai, Pughs Road, R. A. Puram.
(near Sai Baba temple, behind Greenways Road MRTS railway station).
