Carnatic music vocalist T. M. Krishna will be performing on Feb.21, Tuesday at 6.15 pm in memory of Dilip Veeraraghavan at Raga Sudha Hall, Luz.
The other artistes at this concert are Shriramkumar R K , Arunprakash Krishnan and Anirudh Athreya.
Dilip Veeraraghavan (1958-2009) was the first visually-challenged person to acquire a PhD in Tamil Nadu.
He carried out his research work at IIT-Madras between 1982 and 1987.
His thesis work, originally titled ‘The Rise and Growth of the Labour Movement in the City of Madras and its Environs 1918-1939’, was published in Tamil. It is now available in English.
The book is titled ‘The Making of the Madras Working Class’ and is a valuable work in the study of the trade union movement which started in Madras.
