CLASSICAL DANCE DRAMA

<< Koothambalam Abhyasa presents ‘Valli Parinayam’ – a dance drama on the story of Valli’s marriage to Muruga. This dance production will premiere on Saturday, October 29 at The Mylapore Fine Arts club and will be presented by 48 young dance students of Koothambalam Abhyasa, Chennai.

The dance production is to be presented in three parts and has colourful sets of folk dances. The lyrics are written by Vasantha Aravindan, music composed by Roshini Ganesh, choreography by Aarthi Madhumita and presented by students of Aarthi Madhumita. For more details,  contact 9840911480

ENGLISH COMEDY

<< Up to some stand-up comedy this weekend? Get to the Hysterical Improv Show on Oct.19, 9 pm onwards at SOCO at Hotel Savera, Mylapore. An all-women set of comics will take turns to present unscripted comedy, covering anything that crosses their mind. At the end of it, they promise to combine and present a fun short play based on audience’s ideas. Admission fee – Rs.349 onwards.

EATING OUT

(( )) Here is a Bohri food showcase. Food that is said to have Mughal and Gujarati flavours in it. The menu offers Bohri gosht biryani, Subzi dum biryani….this food fest is on now at WelcomHotel Chennai on Cathedral Road. Open for dinner, 7.30 pm onwards. 

(( )) Elsewhere, at the Cappucino restaurant at Hotel Crowne Plaza, the Outlandish Food Fest offers diners a menu which digs deep into very traditional food like Lentil stew, ]Bajra ki roti, Dak bungalow Chicken. On till Oct.31.
