As part of its 90th year celebrations, Veda Adhyayana Sabha will be honouring its past presidents, secretaries and treasurers this Saturday evening ( 5pm ) at the Lady Sivaswamy Ayyar Girls HSS campus hall.
A 26-day Krishna Yajur Veda Ghana Parayanam has been on at the Patshala premises on Pichupillai Street from Sept 28. 16 ghanapadigals are presenting the Parayanam from 8am to 12 noon, 3pm to 5.30 pm and 6.30pm to 7.30 pm.
The Sabha had organised a four-day Veda Sammelanam in July this year.
Launched in 1932 with the blessings of Kanchi Periyava, the Patshala run by the Sabha is said to be the oldest in the city.
Over 500 students have graduated over the years. As part of the patshala education, the students are also taught English and Math.
The patshala is administered by a team of 20 committee members and run with the support of donors.
