Chettinad Vidyashram of R A Puram celebrated its 37th annual Sports Meet at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium on July 31, It was a bounce back, after two years of a break due to the pandemic.
Principal Dr. Amudha Lakshmi welcoming the gathering emphasizing the significance of fostering sports in the youth of the nation. The chief guest M. V. S Choudary, I.R.S., Chief Commissioner officially declared the Sports Meet open after the torch bearing ceremony – by bearers of national/state level athletes.
Marching to the beat of the school band in unison, heads held high, the squads representing different units of the school, made an impressive march past.
The primary school mass drill was a good performance by 140 students. The different dance styles showcased by the juniors and seniors in the form of classical, aerobics, Western and hip hop was another show stopper.
The athletes lit the tracks with their exploits too.
Pearl House emerged victorious after a nail-biting finish ahead of Ruby House.
