In recent times, the team from the E1 Mylapore Police Station has been involved in a number of traffic friendly initiatives.
This paper had earlier reported campaigns on ‘Helmet saves lives’ (https://www.mylaporetimes. com/2021/06/traffic-police- act-against-violators-of- pandemic-time-rules/) and ‘No Honking’ campaigns (https://www.mylaporetimes. com/2022/07/please-do-not- honk-for-no-reason-police-on- a-campaign/).
On Saturday evening, the local police chief along with his team and volunteers from Station Vigilance Committee were at the Luz Junction with a ‘Say No to Drugs’ campaign in line with TN chief minister’s promise of making the state a drugs free one.
Volunteers had come with placards that pointed out the ill effects of using drugs. They also continuously made announcements on the loud speakers, advising people on shunning drugs.
