Children were taken through the art of mural making at a workshop held at Nageswara Rao Park in Luz last Saturday evening ( August 27).
They produced their own versions of the Kerala house-boat, a theme timed with the annual Onam festival that will unfold soon.
They did all this from scratch, over the two hours of the workshop held around the Chess Square at the rear of the park. Each mural of small size, featured the child’s own version of the boat, with backdrops of backwater, palms and even people on the banks.
The children could take home the murals and hang it on a wall. All materials were provided by the host, Sundaram Finance.
The workshop is part of regular music and art events held here by Sundaram Finance, which also manages this park.
