As part of the celebration of International Yoga Day on June 21, two professionally-trained yoga teachers will hold a free yoga session for the public, according to the protocol provided by AYUSH (Government of India’s Ayurvedic and Yoga wing), in their studio in Mandavelipakkam that day.
The teachers are G. Latha and Shashi Rekha who run the ‘Yoga for Wellness’ yoga studio. They are certified yoga trainers from Sri Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, the world-renowned centre in the city.
They are also certified yoga therapists from the Chennai chapter of Bihar School of Yoga.
The session will be for about 45 minutes and guide people present on simple asanas that can do to make a difference in people’s lives.
G. Latha, one of the teacher says that they are also willing to conduct similar sessions on that day – June 21 – in local communities in large apartment complexes.
