The Adyar river’s eastern end was alive to scores of boats recently when professionally-trained rowers went about showing their skills. They were hosted by the Madras Boat Club.
These rowers were on the river to compete to get into the state team that is to take part in the Nationals ( seniors and juniors) that is taking for the first time on the Dal Lake in J&K.
And once the selection was made the team members went through a hectic training sessions.
Says Balaji, who heads the TN Amateur Rowing Association, “This is the busy season in J&K and our team is doing is best to arrange the facilities for the TN team.”
