Over 500 people attended prayers at the mosque in Srinivasapuram in Pattinapakkam zone on the occasion of the Eid festival which follows the period of Ramzan.
Shabeer Ahmed, a painting contractor and a member of the mosque’s council says that on occasions like Eid, Muslims from beyond this neighbourhood come here and attend prayers.
He says that all through the Ramzan period of fasting and prayer, the community was served nombu kanji after people attended the evening prayer and broke the day’s fasting.
He says the mosque will be completing 50 years of its existence and the community plans to have a special event to mark this occasion.
Ashraf Ali is the president of the council at this mosque.
