After a procession around the four Mada Streets on the full moon evening on Saturday, Kapaleeswarar and Karpagambal returned via the eastern rajagopuram with scores of devotees waiting eagerly for the finale of 10-day Vasantha utsavam at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple .
Shortly after 10pm on Saturday evening, the divine couple went around the Vasantha mandapam to a Vedic recital, followed by a sacred verse presentation by othuvars Sathgurunathan and Vageesan with the melam completing the long evening at the temple.
It was almost 10.30pm when the Sri Patham played their special dance to the Nagaswaram presentation of asthana idvwan Mohan Dass taking Sri Kapaleeswarar back to the alankara mandapam.
The Vasantha utsavam for Singaravelar will commence here on Sunday and go on till May 2.
