When Venkatesa Perumal of Mari Chetty Street, Mandaveli comes out of the temple at 8pm on Friday (April 1) evening as part of the fifth day celebrations of the Panguni Brahmotsavam, devotees will be able to have darshan of the Lord atop the refurbished new look Garuda vahana.
The ten day Panguni Brahmotsavam will begin on Monday (March 28) morning with the flag hoisting set to take place between 6am and 7am. On Monday evening, Venkatesa Perumal in the Venugopalan Thirukolam will make the long trip to VC Garden 1st and 2nd Street.
With the support of the temple’s devotees, all the vahanas have been refurbished and will sport a new look this year after extensive repair work undertaken over the last month. Specifically, surya and chandra prabhai and the kuthirai Vahana (April 4 evening procession) have been newly done as the previous ones had been badly damaged.
The chariot festival will take place on Sunday April 3 with the start scheduled for 9am.
Every evening at around 7pm, there will be oonjal sevai in front of the temple.
