A proposal to build steps on all four sides inside the Chitrakulam is now with the HR&CE Department.
This is a big project and will require a large outlay of funds.
N. C. Sridhar, head of trustees of Sri Audi Kesava Perumal Temple says that this proposal was sent sometime ago.
He clarifies that there were no steps built all along the tank in the past save for the steps that lead from the gates to the tank.
What one sees today, of rocks and stones running down from the walls was the original structure, he adds.
