It was a rather quiet reopening of the Marina beach to the public this Monday morning, December 14.
The public were formally allowed to access the beach after being closed down and barricaded in early April.
Even as the mist held up across the beachfront and the lawns even as late as 7 a.m., only a few walkers were seen using the promenade and walking down the service road while a few others did some turns and stretches at the open-air gym that is located behind the Gandhi statue area.
Out on the sands, there were a couple of girls and boys, obviously athletes who warmed up and undertook some fitness exercises.
Police were seen patrolling the service road. Vehicles cannot get into the service road at this time of the day when walkers are up and about.
