On July 27, three residents of Sivaraman Street at Mandaveli tested positive for coronavirus. The residents then requested the officials of the health department to conduct a fever camp in their area.
The next day, more than 150 residents in the neighbourhood, including many seniors, got themselves tested. Swab tests were also taken for several residents.
The president of Sivaraman Street Residents’ Association says, “Three residents of the same family, a middle aged couple and their adult daughter tested positive . While the daughter was asymptomatic, the couple spent a few days in the hospital and were back soon. They have been in quarantine since then and are doing well”.
He says that no more positive cases were reported from their community after that.
