The Dementia Care Foundation (TDCF) is a non-profit organization, located in Thoraipakkam, with the aim of improving the quality of life for elders with dementia and their caregivers.
It has now arranged for transport services that allows for Mylaporeans who wish to make use of this professional care and activities access them at the Thoraipakkam centre.
TDCF is a resource centre for dementia and other services. Says psychologist Madhumita here, “We also provide cognitive screening tests for the elderly. Our flagship program is the Dementia Day Care. Principles of cognitive rehabilitation are applied with meaningful leisure activities that keep the elders engaged through the day.”
The Dementia Care Foundation has now introduced a van shuttle services for elders who sign up for its Dementia Day Care program. This service runs from Monday to Friday along Mylapore, Adyar, Besant Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur and OMR-Thoraipakkam.
Madhumita says a nursing assistant will accompany the elders at all times ensuring maximum safety and convenience for the senior.
The shuttle service includes pick up and drop back to home.
