Masala Pattinam is the new restaurant at Hotel Rainbow on C. V. Raman Road in Alwarpet. If the name brings up the vision of a spice box brimming with cloves and cinnamon and pepper and the like, you are not too far off the mark. The restaurant promises authentic royal Mughalai and Chettinad food using traditional home-tested recipes.
The restaurant is decked in vibrant colours inside. The menu ranges from Mughal biriyani to mutton kozhambu and more.
Vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are offered as starters and in the main course. Sample Chettinad famous ilaneer payasam or falooda for dessert.
