Chettinad Vidyashram’s Model United Nations (CVMUN) conference was held at the school campus from July 17 – 19. The event was inaugurated by Arun Krishnamurthy, founder of the Environmentalist Foundation of India. Dr. Meena Muthiah, secretary and treasurer, Chettinad Vidyashram also attended the function.
Over 450 students participated in the conference which was a forum for students to fully comprehend the working of the United Nations. The Model United Nations council consisted of eight committees – HSC, SPECPOL, ECOSOC, JCC, HRC, UNGC, UNEP and IPC. A new council – the Joint Crisis Council was included this year. The general secretary was Ashwin Senthil Kumar of class XII.
