The Pezhalvar Avatara utsavam was held at Madhava Perumal Temple, Mylapore from Oct 24 – Nov 3. On Nov 1, in the evening, the deity was taken out on a veedi perappadu on a pallaku (palanquin) decorated with different kinds of flowers. On Nov 2, the celebrations started off with the Pezhalvar thirumanjanam in the morning. In the evening, the diety was carried from his birth place mandapam on Arundale Street to the temple on Mangala Giri vahanam followed by almost 1000 devotees who were there till late night to receive the thirtham and prasadam.
