Special auction of antiques at Murray’s on Saturday

Looking for antiques for your home? Head to the special auction that is taking place today ( Aug.9) at Murray & Co. in R. A. Puram. Special auctions are held every few months, regular ones are weekly. 

This one will showcase over 200 items of rare collectibles, pieces of utilitarian value, quality, and investment.Most items are between 50 to 100 years old and many are made of rosewood and teakwood.

Ceramic wall plates, crystal ware, an old brass ‘kooja’, carved wooden panels, a ceremonial Gurkha knife called ‘khukri’, Travancore coins, a roll-top desk, adjustable recliner chairs, glass panel doors, heavy ‘vilakkus’, a silver cabinet, tea sets, a tambura, pillars, low settees, a huge selection of paintings and wall art, an old wall telephone, and many more items with culture, heritage and history are part of this sale.

Prices start from Rs. 1000 to over one lakh rupees.

The viewing for this auction is open until Saturday afternoon. The auction begins at 4.30 p.m. and will go into the night.
