Hotel Shelter in Mylapore has complained to the city police against a group of American ship crew members for not honoring a bill that runs to over Rs.8 lakhs. The crew work on a ship which was detained last October in the seas off Tuticorin for allegedly carrying lots of arms. The crew had recently been out of detention after gaining bail and were asked to stay in the city and report at the Mylapore police station periodically; and for this reason checked into Hotel Shelter. The hotel manager has said that besides the lodging bill, the crew has spent on food and lifestyle facilities. The crew has filed a case in the High Court that charges against them be dismissed. Fearing their departure, the hotel has also moved the court here. The hotel is located on Venkatesa Agraharam Street.
