Chennai Corporation is holding a meeting on June 23, Monday at 6 p.m. at a hall in Alwarpet for a public consultation on the proposed grade separator in Mandaveli. The meeting is at the Corporation community hall on C P Ramaswamy Road in Alwarpet, next to Shilpi boutique. It is open to the public.
Officials will present the project and the public may share ideas, make suggestions and debate. The consultation is held to get feedback from people and jot down ideas and suggestions that the project may incorporate later.
The grade separator is to come up at the junction of R K Mutt Road, South Canal Bank Road and Venkatakrishna Iyer Road, near the Mandaveli MTC bus terminus.
It has been planned because the civic body feels the traffic is very high here but officials have not shared with the public their own assessment and plans; if it had been made public people could have studied it and then debated the issues.
