At 7 a.m. this morning, at Nageswara Rao Park, the first event of the four day annual Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival for 2014 rolls out. This is a long tradition that the Fest follows – it introduced the concept of ‘mike less’ concerts in the park.
These will be held on all four mornings; this time the groups are big so the music will swirl a bit far and envelope the walkers too.
The other events will unfold at 7 p.m. today in the streets and open spaces in and around Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore. All are free and open to the public. The big events take place on the stage in Sannidhi Square. The two Kolam Contests are at 3.30pm on the weekend with about 210 people taking part in both.
