V. Gopalaswamy, aged 88 years passed away on June 30.
He was the son of K. Varadachary, a leading advocate in Mylapore. HeĀ attended P. S. High School and did his under graduate studies at Loyola College.
He was a banker and worked in Central Bank of India. He retired as chief officer of the foreign exchange department.
He was a resident of Mylapore for over seven decades and was also one of the founding members of Mylapore Academy.
He was very passionate about sports and actively played carrom, Badminton and table tennis.
