Admissions at many schools will start soon

Most schools in the neighbourhood will be issuing its applications for new admissions either in late January or in March.

This trend follows issues that surround the Right to Education Act which has a bearing on admission procedures.

The office staff at Vidya Mandir School, Luz say that they will be issuing the admission forms for the Lower Kinder Garten (LKG) on Jan.19. The admission forms for entry up to class nine will be issued in the first week of March. This school follows the CBSE Board syllabus.

At St. Bede’s Anglo Indian H. Sec. School, San Thome, the school will be issuing the Information Sheet for classes LKG, std.1 and 6 on Jan.21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Likewise, its sister school Dominic Savio Matric. School will be issuing the sheet on the same day from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is a new policy that the school is following.

“Those who get the information sheet will have to fill the sheet and submit it to the school. We will then intimate the parents about their wards admission,” says a staff.

“We have not issued any fee structure, as the government has not fixed anything till now. The fee will be intimated only after we get the official circular from the government,” they added.

At P. S. School – North, the admission forms will be issued during the first week of April. They have both English and Tamil medium streams.

The school also has a primary section. This section follows the English medium. The admissions here will also be given during the same time.
