Events in the days ahead . . .

– This week’s Sunday Kutcheri in the Park will be performed by M. A. Abhinaya, 13-year-old student of Jaigopal Garodia Mat. School. She will present a vocal Carnatic music concert. It will be held on Dec. 4 at 6.30 a.m. at the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore. Abhinaya will be accompanied by Pakkala Jayaprakash on the violin and by S. Sivasubramanian on the mridangam.

-An event has been organised in view of the birth centenary celebrations of R. Venkataraman, former President of India and architect of industrial growth in Tamil Nadu by Dr. M. A. M. Ramaswamy, Chairman, Celebrations Committee and Committee of Hosts.

The event will be held on Dec.4 at 6 p.m. at Image Auditorium, R. A. Puram. Dr. K. Rosiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu will be the Chief Guest. Special talks will be held on the occasion.

– Author Lakshmi Mohan’s novel ‘Sivappu Sila Enkalum’ will be released on Dec.3 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, East Mada Street. It will be released by S. Gokul and the first copy is to be received by Seshasai, Joint Commissioner of Police (east zone).

 

– C. P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation is releasing a book on Dec.4 at 10.30 a.m. ‘World of Freehand Kolams’ by Janaki Gopalan. The book will be released by Dr. M. A. Venkatrishnan, HOD of Vaishnavism, University of Madras.
