S. R. Visweswaran passed away in Chennai on January 26.
He lived in Mylapore for 84 years. He was born to K. V. Ramachandra Iyer and A. R. Ponnammal on October 5, 1926. His father was a leading lawyer practising at Madras.
Visweswaran was an alumnus of P. S. High School, Mylapore and Vivekananda
College, Mylapore and Presidency College. He completed Chartered Accountancy, and did his articleship at R. G. N. Price & Co. He also qualified in Law.
He joined E.I.D.Parry in 1958 and retired in 1984 as Company Secretary. Till he breathed his last, he worked as an income tax consultant.
A man of few words, honest, charitable, witty, a student of philosophy, patron of art and culture, he started the school of art education – Kala Sadhanalaya.
He is survived by his wife -Jayalakshmi, two sons -K. V. Ramachandran, K. V. Srikanth, daughter in law Revathi Ramachandran, brother Dr. R. Bhaskaran and grand children-K. R. Srihari and K. R. Manasvini.
