Christians have begun the Holy Week in the religious calendar, the last leg of the long Lenten season of prayer, penance and reflection that leads to services in churches that recall the condemnation and death of Jesus.
This Sunday morning ( April 13), the community of CSI St Luke’s Church on R K Mutt Road took out a procession in which scenes that relate to the Holy Week were staged. Today is celebrated as Palm Sunday.
The members of the church gathered at their old church in Mandaveli and went in a procession to the church on R. K. Mutt Road, near the BSNL office in R K Nagar.
In the procession, were cattle-drawn carts on which people dressed in costumes enacted scenes related to Jesus’ last days.
