Lenten season: members of this Mandaveli church will take out symbolic procession this Sunday

The community at CSI St. Luke’s Church in Mandaveli follows a Lenten practice of taking out a thematic procession every year on Palm Sunday.

The procession will have a tableau depicting the condemnation and stages leading to the death of Jesus, which is remembered during the Holy Week of Lent.

This year too, the church-goers here will take out a procession on April 13 morning. It will begin at 7.30 am at the old church near Mandaveli market.

The entire congregation will take part in the procession. People will carry palms in their hands while the children will be dressed in costumes and enact  scenes on carts.
The procession route covers St. Mary’s Road, Jeth Nagar Main Road, R. K . Nagar 1st Main Road and Thiruveedhi Amman Koil Street.
The procession ends at St. Luke’s Church on R.K. Mutt Road. A special Palm Sunday service will be held after the procession.
