Gymnasiums for men and for women newly built inside the Nageswara Rao Park In Luz were formally opened this week by deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.
Mylapore MLA Dha Velu and city mayor Priya Rajan besides GCC commissioner were also present.
The gyms are located at the rear end of park, just off the rear gate.
They are open in the morning, 6 to 10 am and from 4 to 8 pm.
As of now ,gym instructors have not been appointed and people are seen using the gym and they seem to be finding their own ways to train though this is not advisable while using what are modern and costly gym equipment.
In recent years, this area of the park was used to create compost by recycling the dry and waste vegetation of the park.
