The annual ecumenical Palm Sunday procession in connection with the Lenten season observed in churches will be held in San Thome on Palm Sunday morning, April 13.
A recent practice this, the communities from three churches of the Roman Catholic and Protestant CSI churches based in San Thome meet at one point and take part in this procession that symbolically mark events in the life of Jesus before the days leading to his condemnation and death.
On Sunday, at about 7.15 am, palms will be blessed at St. Raphael’s Girls Hr. Sec. School campus and the community will walk towards San Thome High Road and then head to their own churches for the Palm Sunday services.
Participants: Members of National Shrine of St Thomas Cathedral Basilica., St. Thomas CSI Tamil Church and St. Thomas CSI English Church.
